STORMPLANET - Severe Event Reports A squall warning was issued for Port Phillip and Western Port today as a Westerly wind change approached the Melbourne area. As it approached my vantage point approx 40km east of the CBD, the squall line had a gust front but as it tracked further east it lost much of this structure, however preceding the change at approx 1300hrs I experienced strong winds from the north at around 25kts, gusting 35-40kts. I was captivated by the way this squall line changed its form as it approached me, Perhaps not one of the most photogenic event, but I was more interested in observing & for the experience, I am more than pleased!
