Terrific weekend's storm chasing NSW/Vic.

Geelong to Seymour, an exciting day's chase with intense storms.

Report + vids + pics online here

A very slow moving and complex low pressure
system and associated troughs delivered several days of storms and
high rainfall across SE Australia. David embarks upon several storm
chases and photo journeys during the period.

Walls of Jerusalem - Long Tarn
The Walls of Jerusalem
is dominated by alpine vegetation and endemic conifer forests amid a
high plateau of dolerite peaks. We walked in to camp the night in
our tents adjacent to the Long Tarn.
This place is heaven on earth,

Tassie's NW Coast
Stanley, The Nut, Cape Grim & the daunting
Woolnorth property & adjoining wind farm provided countless
photographic and wild weather opportunities recently.
See the gallery here...

Mt
Barrow Summit May 28th 2006
The absolute majesty of
this mountain became apparent as we set off for a very early
morning's photographic trip, well worth the effort! Take a look at
some of the images
here...

Maria
Island May 7th - 8th 2006
Maria Island, off
Tasmania's SE Coast has undergone many changes since the first crude
camps of whalers and sealers were set up on its shores in the early
1800s. It is an amazing place to bushwalk and a photographer's
dream! Go here.

Cradle Mountain May 3-5th 2006
An intended trek on
the Overland Track was cut short by a cold front that delivered
gale-force winds, lots of snow and blizzard conditions. We were able
to complete the Dove Lake circuit and scale Marions Peak but beyond
that the adventure was too dangerous to complete, as per the
Bushwalkers Alert raised by the BOM. However, I still managed to
capture some images and
they can be seen here.

Lady
Lake April 10th 2006
This walk, on Higgs
Track, goes through a beautiful rain forest of old Myrtles,
Sassafras and ferns and took us to the splendid Lady Lake ,
elevation around 1350 metres. The scenery was stunning and the
mountain plain in full wildflower bloom.

Ben
Lomond April 9th 2006
The magnificent mountain of Ben Lomond with its imposing and
precipitous cliffs is visible over much of the northern midlands of
Tasmania. The plateau is roughly 14 kilometres in length, 6
kilometres wide and is in excess of 1300 metres in height. A summit
on the plateau named Legges Tor is the second highest point in
Tasmania (1572 metres). I took the journey up the mountain to
capture her beauty before she gains her winter cover of
snow...
Badger
Head
February 22nd 2006
-
Badger
Head can be found in the Narawntapu National Park. The scenery on
the coastal leg of this walk is daunting.
Look here...

Mt Roland & Mt Van Dyke
February 13th 2006
-
Sensational climb to both summits,
views
from the NW coast through to Andersons Bay, south to Ben Lomond and
across to the Great Western Tiers, Pelion Range and Walls of
Jerusalem.
