FreeWX is a full-featured program for displaying, logging, emailing and uploading weather data from the WM-918 / WX-200 electronic weather stations.

FreeWX is FREE for personal or non-commercial use

FreeWX is a 32 bit Windows application for the PC. It will run under Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows NT4 (SP6a), Windows 2000 and Windows XP. FreeWX is NOT supported under Windows 95 because there are numerous issues with missing or outdated DLL's.
You will need a bare minimum of a Pentium 133 computer with 32MB of RAM to run FreeWX. FreeWX does NOT work with the WMR-918 or WMR-968 wireless type weather stations. Neither does it work with WM-918 image any other brand of weather station. If you have a Davis, Peet, LaCrosse or any other brand of weather station, FreeWX will not work. FreeWX is ONLY for the WM-918/WX-200 hard wired station distributed by Oregon Scientific, Huger or Radio Shack. In Australia and New Zealand the WM-918 is distributed by DSE. If your weather station
doesn't look exactly like the picture on the right then you don't have a WM-918 or a WX-200. There are no plans to add support for other weather stations at this time.

Although FreeWX can be used for casual viewing on the PC of the data from your weather station, it's intended use is to run continuously for the purpose of long-term logging and observation of weather conditions as well as providing the basis for a personal "Internet" weather site.

FreeWX can automatically upload an image file from a webcam if an image file named VidCap.jpg is found in the installation folder. You may use any existing webcam software or a simple freeware video capture application from the author of FreeWX can be downloaded from this site.

FreeWX also uploads a small raw weather data file to a website. This data can be accessed and displayed with a simple web client. You can download the FreeWX web client program from this site (206KB).
