First snow in autumn/winter forecast 2010

With some mundane weather on the radar for the next week or so, thought we'd all have a guess at when the word 'snow' will first appear in the BOM forecast.

My guess...March 25th. :D

Sorry to spoil your fun David but,

about a week ago there was, snow forecast for the highest peaks and this is about the second time it has been mentioned this year.

I think they may also forecast it again for the highest peaks tonight. :D

Gudday Dave M,

this evening with the showers and wind in Kingstn is whetting my appetite for things to come! Bring on winter I say! For the forseeable future it looks as if we will be covered by a large dominant high.

We already had a snowfall for an hour here in Adaminaby in early Feb. Settled for a couple of hours within 1km of our residence. Would have settled here but we just missed the best part of the clouds.

Liking the picture Kel!!! Say g'day to Me good mate Andy please.

Looooonnng term GFS showing good prospects for you in about 10 days down there.

Good call dave!!!

Noticed that no one is willing to go for a snow to 400m in the forecast date pick.

Wimps ... all of you :)

Hi MF,
You want a call for snow to 400m 7th - 9th May!!!! :D

Outlook for Sunday :
Rain tending to showers during the afternoon and
contracting to west to south. Cool with fresh to strong westerly winds tending
colder southwesterly with highland snowfalls likely later.

Looking good with another intresting system coming in around Wednesday Next week. :D

I reckon Sunday afternoon should bring something. Have had some bits of odd sleet up here but I think some light snow showers should start winter off.

Weather has been boring up here, at least you lot are closer to action. GFS starting to push changes a bit further northward in latest runs, shouldn't be too long before you get a proper fall. Late next week is looking slightly hopeful.

Back from my summer hibenation and looking forward to the indian summer moving on . ! Officially the Ben had a couple of CM of fresh snow last sunday night which according to the creek inn owner was the first snow since last October which is a very long period without snow for the Ben.. Early next week looks potentially ok for a cold front providing some snow above 1200m around 26th -27th April maybe :D
